Moving from our big house to our lovely little condo happened in whirlwind in 2015. We went from moving as a far off concept, to condo bought, house sold, and completely moved – in 6 weeks. During the process, we’d shuffle Katie back and forth, staying in the new place as soon as we could and as often as possible. Her behavior told us that she saw it as a cool, but slightly worrying, vacation. That all changed the day we moved the dog food and beds. Suddenly she was all attention to the issue. No more random explores or quick naps, she was focused, ears perked, standing close, sniffing and watching every move. It was as if you could hear her thoughts – “Careful with that! Don’t spill the food! Swing wide, watch that bowl as you round the corner there! Are the beds sitting solidly in there?”
It was as if you could hear her thoughts: “Are the beds sitting solidly in there?”
So too with the trailer. We had mentally picked out a spot inside for her bed, a cozy corner under the built-in cupboard. Evolutions of thought on where to put her water at night eventually landed us at a little corner shelf, Katie-level, nearby.
